Guiding

Guide Association Groups offer a wide range of activities, including craftwork, projects in small groups, cooking, games and meeting with other units in Wigston.

All members make a Promise that they share with members of the Guide Association around the world.

The following organisations for Girls meet weekly, during school term-time, in the church rooms:

  • Rainbows – 5 to 7 years, meet on Wednesday 6.00 to 7.00 pm
  • Brownies – 7 to 10 years, meet on Tuesday 6.15 to 7.30 pm
  • Guides – 10 to 14 years, meet on Wednesday 7.15 to 9.00 pm
  • Rangers – 14 to 25 years old, meet on Thursday 7.45 to 9.15 pm

Scouts

Beaver Scouts is for children from 6 to 8 yrs old and enjoy games, making things, doing badges and making friends. We do not currently have a Beaver scout colony. The nearest colony is the Leicester 28th Group at Central Avenue, Wigston on Tuesday evenings, 6.30 – 7.30pm, during school term times.

Cub Scouts, for 8 – 10 1/2 years, participate in a wide range of ‘Badge’ work such as Artist, Home Help, Home Safety, as well as Sports Enthusiast and Athletics. Camping events are also held at local Leicestershire Scout Campsites. Cub Scouts meet between 6.45 – 8.30 pm, on Thursday evenings.

Scouts are for young people, between the ages of 10 1/2 to 14 1/2 years. There is a wide range of Activity Badges and Challenge Awards to earn, and camping plays a strong part in the activities. Scouts meet on Mondays at 7.30 until 9.00 pm
